Ordinary differential equations and the Partial Differential Equations are basic tools for solving real life problems arising in various Sciences -Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Geoscience, … and even in Finance. The content of workshop is based on the UG syllabus for Partial Differential Equations course introduced in the University of Mumbai, following topics from the book on PDE by Professor T. Amarnath. The course will also include introductory topics on Laplace, Heat and Wave equations. The speakers are experts in the subject and their talks will include applications of the material covered. Brief introduction to advanced techniques of solving PDEs will also be discussed to highlight the importance of studying Differential Geometry, Measure theory and Functional Analysis which are traditionally categorized as “pure mathematics”. Teachers are encouraged to enrol for this TEW and take advantage of this interacting with the speakers.
