ATMW Geometric Invariant Theory (2018)- Speakers and Syllabus

A.J. Parameswaran TIFR, Mumbai	4	Will cover fundamental material about projective varieties and algebraic groups which further introduce reductive groups and formulate the GIT problem in the first few lectures.
V Balaji Chennai Mathematical Institute,Chennai.	4	Introduce the concept of stability/semi stability and consider examples as in the book of Mumford up to chapter 4.
D. S. Nagaraj The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai	4	Concentrate on specific quotients by General Linear groups to solve specific moduli problems. Construction of moduli spaces of vector bundles, parabolic bundles are some of the topics will be emphasised.
S. Kannan Chennai Mathematical Institute,Chennai.	4	There will also be discussing on specific quotients by torus on Schubert varieties and Bott Samelson varietis apart from the generalities on torus quotients.
