In the proposed meeting, we shall focus on some aspects of Lie groups and representation theory. The Lie groups and their representations have been in the forefront of modern research. The main component of the program will be some of the current research topics that would consist of three main courses. This workshop is going to be a continuation of the AIS programme on Lie Groups and Lie Algebras (2023) at IISc.
The proposed courses are given below. Apart from these courses, there will also be some invited talks by the experts on some other aspects and recent developments. Topics are chosen to cover the modern aspects of the areas which are very much active presently. During the entire program, we shall have ample time to hold discussions among the young participants and the experienced researchers/speakers. The event would take place at IISER Berhampur. The program would involve researchers from around the country as well as enthusiastic young graduates and postdoctoral fellows. We are also planning to invite some of the experts and a large number of young researchers in India to take part in the
discussion meeting. Experts are expected to give survey talks on recent developments. The event would be centered around Lie groups, Harmonic analysis on Lie groups, Hypergeometric groups and their arithmeticity, Thinness, Representation theory : Induced representations, Eisenstein series and L-function for rank one groups, Geometric group theory.
