How to reach Chandigarh - The City Beautiful
Chandigarh, The City Beautiful, is one of the modern City of India located in the foothills of Shivalik ranges. It was planned by the famous French architect Le Corbusier. This city is one of the best experiments in urban planning and modern architecture in the twentieth century in India. The name ‘Chandigarh’ derives from the temple of "ChandiMandir" located in the vicinity of the site selected for the city. The deity 'Chandi', the goddess of power and a fort of 'garh' laying beyond the temple gave the city its name “Chandigarh-The City Beautiful”.

The city beautiful - Chandigarh located at the foot hills of Himalayas is the capital of both Punjab and Haryana states. The city is situated at a distance of 250 kms. from national capital - Delhi. Chandigarh
is well connected by public transport (rail, road and air). Panjab University is located within a distance of 16 km from ISBT/ Railway Station/ Airport. The weather during November is cold. Woolen clothes are required here in the month of November.
