AFS programs are targeted at fresh Ph. D. students in research institutions and universities in the country. In the selection of AFS-I, preference will be given to those who hold some national scholarships such as NBHM, UGC, CSIR, GATE etc.  In the selection of AFS -II and AFS-III, preference will be given to those who have attended AFS-I satisfactorily. Before recommending  a candidate who have not attended AFS-I, their supervisors should make sure that the candidate is conversant with the material covered in AFS-I.

Please note that participants have to bear the travel cost on their own. Only lodging and boarding will be covered by the organizers. After making the on-line registration,   they are advised to  book their train ticket well in advance, in order to avoid disappointment due to non-availability of the same.

  1. There are two lists:

    (b)Wait listed
    The two lists will be merged into a single list after after 15th October
  2. The capacity at Ajmer centre is 40.
  3. The selection is subject to  of the following  formalities and is on a first -come-first -served basis.
    • Send confirmation of your participation  to anant.shastri@gmail.com along with a scanned copy of your forward journey train ticket (wherever applicable).
    • Hard copy of the registration form to the organizer Prof. D. C. Sharma at Ajmer.  
  4. The selection status will appear on the webpage and will be updated from time to time. Do not send email inquiries on this matter.
  5. Even the wait-listed candidates are advices to book their ticket immediately so as not to be disappointed afterwards for not getting tickets. However, their confirmation will start appearing only after 30 September subject to availability of seats.
  6. After sending your confirmation, if you decide to drop out for any reason, PLEASE inform the organisers immediately so that another candidate may get a chance.
  7. Please do not forget to write your SID number with each communication.
