Syllabus:

Graph theory has applications in engineering and science, such as chemical engineering, electrical engineering, civil and mechanical engineering, architecture, management and control, communication, operational research, sparse matrix technology, combinatorial optimisation and computer science.Algebraic graph theory can be viewed as an extension to graph theory in which algebraic methods are applied to problems about graphs. Studies in algebraic graph theory includes the properties of graphs in relationship to the characteristic polynomial, eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices associated with graphs, such as its adjacency matrix or Laplacian matrix. In view of the importance of this newly emerged subject in diversified areas this school may open new avenue towards the understanding of the field and provide an essential platform to upcoming researchers. The series of lectures will cover some of the advanced topics in algebraic graph theory while beginning with some introductory topics in the field. The speakers of the school are distinguished scholars in the field of combinatorics so participants will definitely be benefited by the lectures and tutorial.
