This Teachers’ Enrichment Workshop (TEW) is aimed primarily for mathematics teachers at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. While research scholars in mathematics may also apply, they will be given lower preference in the selection. The sessions will be focused towards improving the understanding of the fundamental concepts and results in Linear Algebra, Partial Differential Equations and Fourier Analysis. Problem solving is the key in learning mathematics. So participants are required to work on problem solving every day. Hence, only those who are interested in learning and working on problems on a daily basis are welcome to apply.

Linear Algebra (LA):
Systems of Linear Inequalities: Standard Forms; Fourier-Motzkin Elimination
Existence of Solutions: Farkas’Lemma, Theorems of the Alternative; Convex Cones and Structure of Solutions.
Linear Programming: Existence of Optimal Solutions; Duality.

Partial Differential Equations (PDE):
Introduction to PDE, solving linear, semi-linear, quasilinear, and fully non-linear first-order equations by the method of characteristics. Conservation laws, Laplace equation (Fundamentalsolution,MeanValueProperties,MaximumprinciplesandAnalyticity). Heat equation (Fundamental Solution, infinite speed of Propagation and Maximum Principles).Wave equation (D'Alembert's solution, finite speed of propagation, method of reflection). Solutions of heat and wave equations using Transform techniques.

Fourier Analysis (FA):
Fourier series and convergence, pointwise and uniformconvergence, Gibbs phenomenon, Fourie integrals, Fourier transform and its basic properties, Plancherel and Parseval identities, Fourier series with respect to complete orthonormal sets in Hilbert spaces, Laplace transformation and its applications.

Department of Mathematics, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu. The workshop will be held from June 8, 2026, to June 13, 2026.
We are looking forward to your active participation in the program. This program will be intensive in developing the problem-solving skills in the above three subjects. Given the limited duration of six days, the programme will focus on covering the key concepts and essential aspects of these subjects.
