Hitchin systems and their quantization by Prof. Pavel Etingof (MIT, USA) (2026)

Prof. Pavel Etingof

Prof. Pavel Etingof is a Professor of Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research interests are primarily in the intersection of representation theory and mathematical physics, such as quantum groups and integrable systems.

In 1999, he was a Fellow of the Clay Mathematics Institute. He was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Beijing in 2002. He is a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society. He was elected Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2016.

In 2010, together with Slava Gerovitch, he co-founded the MIT Program for Research In Mathematics, Engineering and Science (PRIMES) for high school students, and has since served as its Chief Research Advisor.
