Brief description about the school:  The area of Hyperbolic Conservation Laws is an important branch of Partial Differential Equations that has a lot of physical applications, especially in the study of fluid dynamics. It is a relatively new branch that started with the work of E. Hoff and P. D. Lax around 1950, and since then, it has been growing extensively. The mathematics programs of most Indian Universities, however, do not include conservation laws in much detail. The aim of this school is to give comprehensive training in the mathematical theory of conservation laws to students of graduate programs. This instructional school will also give the participants a chance to interact with researchers working in this area.

We propose to run six courses (details can be found in the syllabus below) ranging from introductory to advanced-level modules that cover a wide range of topics, that any graduate student aspiring to work in this area is expected to know.
