Differential Equations arise naturally while modeling physical phenomena. It is very important and extremely difficult to determine whether a physical problem is stated correctly. Even when this is fixed, closed form solutions are rarely possible which could otherwise serve as vital sources of intuition. Hence we do find approximate solutions to such equations arising in real life problems. The objective of the proposed school is to highlight the essential basic theory for finding analytical solutions of important differential equations, some numerical methods to solve them and their applications in various other fields such as mechanics. Differential Equations form an integral part of curriculum in any postgraduate course in Mathematics. The topics to be covered in the school are arranged in such a way that the university and college teachers get exposed to a good mix of classical theory and modern approaches.
